This leaderboard shows the current standings of all racers who have submitted a points score. Originally this category granted one point per sovereign country visited during the race, but over time we’ve expanded it to include bonus territories such as islands and independent regions. On occasion, some regions may be worth more than one point if they’re awkward to visit.

Points are self‑reported on an honesty system, and our finish team will closely invigilate the front‑runners toward the end of the race and as they cross the finish line to ensure accuracy. Competitors are ranked by their total points, as defined in our Regions & Countries classification (including any bonus points). The board auto‑updates in real time as new scores and location snapshots arrive.
