Two events, one Parisian day. Enter the morning event, the afternoon event, or both as a discounted Double Header, it's entirely up to you.
Metro Mayhem heads to Paris with two very different events on the same day: a photographic treasure hunt in the morning, and our classic checkpoint format in the afternoon. Enter one, or enter both.
10:00-13:00
A photographic twist on Metro Mayhem. At the start, we'll give you 16 photographs taken somewhere across Paris. Your job is to work out exactly where each one was taken, race across the city to find the viewpoints and recreate as many of the shots as possible before time runs out.
Some should be instantly recognisable. Others might require a little detective work. How you tackle them, which ones you prioritise and how you get between them is entirely up to you. Each photo carries a points value of 1 to 5 depending on how hard it is to identify, and there's a scheduled rest break built into the three hours.
Three hours. 16 photographs. How keen is your eye for Paris?
14:30-17:30
Our classic Metro Mayhem format hits Paris. You'll be given a race pack, packed with checkpoints scattered across the city, each worth points and each involving a location, challenge or suitably odd piece of Paris.
There's no set route. You'll need to decide where to go, what to skip and how to make the best possible use of Paris's public transport network. This event mixes standard checkpoints with bonus tasks, our usual Metro Mayhem format. Visit as many worthwhile checkpoints as you can before racing back to the finish before the clock hits zero.
Expect strategy, rapid route choices, obscure corners of Paris and three very busy hours (with an optional rest break included).
Both events are bounded to what a Zone 1-3 Navigo Easy day pass covers, Paris intra-muros plus the ring of inner suburbs just beyond the Périphérique (think La Défense, Saint-Denis, Vincennes, Créteil, Montreuil). That's the same size of playing field we typically use for a three-hour game in London (Zone 1-3), scaled to Paris.
The Métro network itself barely leaves Zone 1-2, so reaching the further checkpoints will mean picking up the RER or a bus as well as the Métro, all covered by the same pass. Anything beyond Zone 3 (the airports, Versailles, Disneyland Paris) is out of bounds.
Both events start and finish at the same central venue, details to be confirmed closer to the date. It'll also host a lunchtime social between the two races (10:00-13:00 finishers and 14:30 starters can overlap here) and an evening social once the afternoon race wraps up, results announced, scores tallied, and a chance to meet fellow entrants over a drink.
Both Paris events use our standard points-based format. 10 Lupine League points for hitting the minimum points requirement on each race, plus bonus league points for the top 3 finishers in each game. The winner of each event also takes home a bottle of champagne.
Enter either event on its own for €45 per person, or take on both as a Paris Double Header for €79.50, a €10.50 saving versus entering separately. Each event is capped at 30 participants initially, we may expand this if demand is high.
